18 weeks and 1 day, Meeting Daddy

Hello Auntie Sophie,

well we've had another busy week and mummy and daddy have been super shopping again.

On Sunday mummy and daddy collected our new wardrobe from Stubbington and the lady gave them some baby clothes for us as she'd bought a bundle from an NCT sale and they were already going to be too small for her baby boy who is due in a couple of weeks!
Daddy got all the wardrobe bits up to the spare bedroom and mummy cooked. we made mummy have a naughty day on Sunday, we made her eat 4 lollipops, have banana and chocolate chip muffin with custard before dinner and then semolina and jam after dinner! dinner wasn't very much , just some roasted vegetables to make sure there would be room for all the puddings.

On Monday mummy and daddy got a letter to say they have all their courses booked now. so hopefully when we arrive, they'll know what to do with us. mummy says she's looking forward to the days she gets to spend at Ashurst with us. Daddy is going to come up every night after work and have dinner with mummy and cuddles with us before we all go home together.

We are now the size of sweet potatoes and about 12 cm long. we have been practicing how to swallow, suck our thumbs, yawn, make faces and have a good old stretch. And we get the hiccups, which gives mummy the hiccups, we like that, it's funny, and it makes daddy laugh. Plus when mummy hiccups daddy says 'Hey Beans' to us.

we have been doing loads and loads of moving about this week, sometimes its enough to make mummy just stop what she's doing. we don't hurt her, but because we're getting stronger and stronger now she really knows when we're on the move.

on Wednesday mummy sold her old blue bed to make space for all our stuff.

Thursday mummy wore a top to work that she thought she'd get loads more wear out of, nope! we reckoon it was her last day to wear it until after we're here.
Friday she did the same! silly mummy.

This is us making all mummys clothes too small on Friday.

even though we make her tops too small, mummy did buy us a moses basket from small ads (her favourite shop!) it's the one they wanted and only £10 so now they can get a new one too so we both have baskets to chill in the garden with mummy in the summer. Mummy also started using some of her vouchers and got us a really smart changing bag and some fancy nappies for just £2.00. Daddy likes this sort of shopping mummy does, he says it's better than when she can fit into all the stuff in Winchester and hides it in the wardrobe pretending she's had it for aaaaages.

Friday night we all went out for dinner with Auntie Lucy and Uncle James, mummy didn't think she was very hungry but polished off a spicy bean burger a bowl of onion rings and nearly all her chips, there wasn't a pudding she could have but we think she'd have tried squishing one on top of us if there had been!

Daddy bought a new pillow for mummy. it means she stops rolling on her back when she's asleep, which isn't good for us as we don't get as much oxygen or blood as we'd like, plus daddy says it stops her from snoring too! So now mummy has a nice comfy pillow to sleep on her left side which means we're all happy.

On Saturday morning (today) daddy put his hand on mummys tummy to feel us moving. He was talking to us so we wiggled back near his hand, he can feel us!!! He says we're very little but he can definitely feel moving and it's not mummy's gas.

So today we're all very tired. we have been to the shops and used more vouchers to get more nappies and a gazillion wet wipes.
mummy and daddy took the blue bed apart for the lady to come and collect it next week. They built our wardrobe and put lots of our stuff in it, it's looks very smart and Jess cat has already been under it and on the top of it. They have also moved the changing unit and filled it with all the re-usable nappies they've been given for us, daddy says we're going to have very well dressed bottoms!
Daddy took loads of their stuff to the charity shop, so that they don't over fill the loft and forget whats up there. They now just have the corner bits to sort out and then the room is really ours. All we have to do is get here.

So thats us, we're pooped now so will probably have an early night tonight, we'll try our best not to wake mummy up at 6.30 again tomorrow morning.

speak to you again next week
lots of love

17 weeks and lots of happy

Hello Auntie Travelling Sophie!
well, we've had another busy week of doing lots of things.
we are now the size of turnips! and have reached the 5 inches mark.

we have been moving around a lot, and working out the things we like and don't like, more about that in a bit.

on Tuesday morning mummy and daddy got to hear our heart beats, the midwife said we sound nice and strong and very happy in here. that made mummy and daddy happy too.

mummy has been drinking loads of orange squash, we think its funny because we like it too so we think thats why she drinks so much and then she complains about going to the loo all the time. mummy tried a different squash, we didn't like that so much so made her leave it until she got some more orange! sometimes though she doens't know if she really does need a wee, we play a trick on her and squish her bladder so she's not sure. all those stairs are keeping her nice and fit though. if mummy's ticker is good and strong, then our tickers will be too!

on Thursday mummy went over to the great hall with Amy. they have an exhibition on which is loads of speakers around the outside and it makes you feel like you're in the middle of a big choir. mummy and Amy started off by sitting in the middle and hearing it all, we liked that a lot and danced around to it, making mummys tummy into different shapes. then mummy went and stood by different speakers to hear the seperate singers. we didn't like the deep scary voices, but we liked the high singing like birdies so danced lots to those ones. it made mummy feel very happy and she phoned daddy to tell him, he was happy too and was singing funny songs in a high birdy voice to us when we were all at home.

we have met one of the cats already, Jessy. she was trying to have a sleepy with her head on what she thought was mummys tummy,  well it wasn't, it was us! so we gave her a quick boot. her head popped up and after mummy and daddy stopped laughing they said she looked really confused.

On Friday mummy and daddy got to have a sleepy in and then we all went to London to the Baby Show. they got us lots of cool freebies and bought some things to help feed us. daddy kept laughing because he said mummy will look like madonna when she's using the pump thingy, mummy told him to stop laughing or he'll wake up one morning to find it attached to him and mummy will have her video camera and before he knows it he'll be all over YouTube. daddy stopped laughing, for a while. they saw lots of really cool stuff they'd like to get for us, and that they are hoping can be put on a baby gift wish list so they don't end up with a gazillion blankets!

we do not like trains!! we tell mummy this by making her feel as sick as we can so she won't go on another one. daddy thinks we might like them better when we're on the outside and a little bit bigger.

Friday was a busy day, we went to Auntie Viv's big birthday party in Southampton, here's a picture of the cake mummy got her friend to make for her...

Auntie Viv told mummy today that the whole cake got eaten, but no one knows who ate Viv!
mummy also got a new top at the baby show, she says it feels like a great big cuddle and helps to keep us under a bit of control as well as making our bump look lovely

and here's our bump from the front, its quite a bit different now than when you last saw us!

as well as the nice choir music, we also really like drum and bass. daddy played some this morning and as we were awake, we had a dance around to that too.
later today grandma and her friend becki are coming over with some stuff for us, it's from becki's sister and will be fun to see what it all is.

tomorrow mummy and daddy are going to get a wardrobe for our nursery, they are running out of space in the spare room with all our stuff they keep getting. we think mummy and daddy are feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the kit they need for us and how much of the house we're going to take over. it's going to be lovely when we get out though, mummy says the garden will be our first room as thats where she intends to be for all daylight hours so we have to be there too.

we hope you're enjoying NZ and mummy has already told us that we can't wash mud off our clothes with juice, so even we know that now.
lots of love

Week 16 (and 1 day)

Auntie Sophie! Hello!

wowsers we've been busy this week.
we've been moving around a bit which mummy has been able to feel since about Tuesday although she thought we were just a case of the tummy troubles and kept popping off to the loo so she didn't make any embarrassing noises in the office. there were no noises to make, just us, although she didn't waste a good opportunity to go for a wee while she was there!
so apparently we feel like bubbles being slowly blown against the inside of mummys tummy, and occasionally we make it feel like she's being tickled from the inside. Today we've been moving a bit too much and have made her feel a bit sick. sorry mummy!

mummy and daddy are very happy to have recieved a letter to say that all the tests have come back good and we're all at low risk of having downs and spina bifida. so we're still healthy beans.

mummy and daddy have been buying second hand furniture for our nursery from the small ads, they picked up a changing table today which mummy is going to paint up just for us and next weekend they're getting a wardrobe for all our clothes we're going to need.

They get to hear our heartbeats again on Tuesday morning when they go and see Kate our midwife, and then they're having a big day out on Friday at the baby show in London. hopefully they'll be able to get loads of great stuff for us, and maybe even buy our wheels! very exciting.

this is what our place looks like this morning...

sorry it's a bit fuzzy, mummys hand was a bit shaky and after 5 attempts she said a bad word and that this one will have to do!
we are the size of avocados this week and are almost 5 inches long! we can hear things from the outside now, and daddy speaks to us a lot, we like it, he makes funny voices for us.

will write again to let you know what fun we had at the baby show and what goodie smummy and daddy got for us.
lots of love in the shunshine
